  • Well folks, it is time for a change.  We are moving from North Palm Beach, Florida to Spokane, Washington.  My family lives out there and hopefully I will be able to finally find a job after a very lengthy period of unemployment.  To start with, we will be living across the state border in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for a while until we get more permanently settled.  Please help us out and keep your fingers crossed for us that everything goes smoothly and that the future will look brighter on the other side of this transition.  Thanks and have a great day!

Since we have lived in the deep south for about 5 years now, we are obviously left with some horrifying, weighty questions.  Any input on the following would be greatly appreciated!  Does anyone know how long it takes to get phrases like “y’all” and “all y’all’s” back out of one’s vocabulary?  Can one get the southern influence exorcised from one’s psyche?  How quickly does one’s IQ recover?  How long does it take before “urges” relating and pertaining to unnatural acts with water fowl and Everglade reptiles begin to fade?  Please help!

  • My aunt and her family live in Cour d’Alene! They love it. Lots of people live there, then commute to Washington for work. Apparently the cost of living is very good there. I dunno. Best of luck!

  • Hi dear ones,
be sure you’ll find a great and prosperous new future in the area from Chief Joseph. I am sure your brain works as well as a 150 points brain does. Look forward optimistically and trust in yourselves and your HP. Doerte and I wish you a very stressless moving and a lucky start over there in North-West.

  • You’re hilarious… There are similar birds in idaho and washington… you may just need to make some minor adjustments :)
Spokane is a very interesting place… a very eclectic mix of people there, so anyone can find people to hang with. I love living in the northwest compared to San Diego…. the cost of living in very low and in Spokane, a great apartment in a nice district with original moldings and dark hardwood isn’t hard to find. You may have culture-shock for a bit, though… the lack of racial diversity was difficult for me to get used to.
I picked up “Y’all” from people up here (‘course they were from Georgia and South carolina) and noone’s ever made fun of me… they do make fun of the way I say “for” in the middle of a sentence, though… I say “fer…” it’s so…. hickish.
    Anyway, I hope you’re liking it there…
